If
an old man went stone blind

would he be livin' in his own personal jail?

Little
Diane, she threatened my life

She’s
gonna cut me up with a plastic pocket knife

Polly
and Dolly were sittin' on a fence
A7
Beatin' my head with a monkey
wrench
E7 A7
Hey
babe, that sounds so good - It sounds so good
E7
A7
Hey
babe, baby, babe, it sounds so good
E7 A7
(x2)
E7
Polly
and Dolly were sittin' on a fence
A7
Beatin' my head with a monkey
wrench
E7 A7

Oooh
keep on walkin'

have to stop to do no fancy talkin'
E7 A7
Oooh
keep on walkin'
E7 A7
Smile
everybody down – Smile 'em down

*I
was told this is supposed to be, “I don’t care much for your CITY ways.” But I
swear I hear him sing, “…SILLY ways.” What do you
hear?
This
version of this song was originally called “Polly and Dolly” but later when
Raccoon sang the song he changed the names to “Bougie and Eva” (a couple girls
he knew from Rainbow Gatherings) so it was decided it could no longer just be
called “Polly And Dolly” so I changed the name to “That Sounds So Good (Polly
And Dolly)”. If a version where he sang “Bougie and Eva” comes out the song
will then be called, “That Sounds So Good (Bougie and Eva).” Hopefully there is
a recording of the newer version out there somewhere.
